Frequently Asked Questions
What support is available to my student?
Graduate and professional students have access to all the same resources and support as undergrads on the Pullman campus. The Graduate School website resources page is a good place to find information on housing, childcare, food resources, and more.
How can my student get involved with the campus community?
The Graduate and Professional Student Association (GPSA) can help your student make connections and find ways to get involved on campus. Students can also search for “graduate” on Coug Presence to find organizations for grad students that align with their interests and hobbies.
Does WSU have grad student housing?
Yes, Housing and Residence Life has apartments for single students and families. Your student can use the filters on the Apartments page to find the right type of housing for them.
Does WSU provide health insurance?
Yes, WSU offers health insurance to eligible graduate students and graduate student assistants. You can find out more on the Cougar Health Services website.
Does my student need a car?
Most students find they don’t need to bring a car to campus. WSU is a very walkable campus, and free public transportation is readily accessible for trips off campus. You can find more transportation options, including options for getting to and from local airports, on the Community Life website.
